Submission of Final Papers

  • All submissions are due on November 16, 2007. The constraints for submitting the proceedings source to the publisher are very tight, so this is a firm deadline. Late submissions risk not being published.
  • All final papers must be provided in LaTeX2e source format, using the Springer llncs style, which is available in llncs2e.zip. Submissions in other formats cannot be accepted.
  • The limit for final papers is 20 pages. If you need more space, please contact the PC chairs in advance. Submissions in excess of 20 pages will not be accepted without advance arrangements.
  • Authors are given freedom to make individual choices regarding style, within the constraints specified in the file llncs.dvi which is contained in llncs2e.zip as well as the constraints which are specified in typeinst.pdf. You have freedom to choose the bibliography format and the specific numbering scheme for theorems, lemmata, etc. On the other hand, it is essential that the paper conform to the size and font constraints specified in the Springer format files.
  • Make sure that the paper does not have any overfull boxes which spill over the right-hand margin. Check the .log file of the paper carefully, and correct the formatting (using \linebreak commands, for example), to remove any Overfull \hbox messages which involve the right-hand margin.
  • The abstract of the paper is used by Springer as a stand-alone summary. Therefore, it is inappropriate to include citations to the bibliography within the abstract. Make sure that the abstract does not include such citations.
  • If you wish to suggest a running title (using the \titlerunning{} command) and a running author (using the \authorrunning{} command), that would be fine. However, the editors will make the final decisions regarding these strings. [These strings are placed at the top of each page of the article, and so must be sufficiently short.]
  • The final submission must be uploaded via the conference management system (submission is closed!) as a single archive file. The preferred formats are Unix/Linux tar (preferably compressed) and Zip. Please do not use system-dependent archiving schemes, such as self-extracting Windows archives. If you experience difficulties creating your archive, please contact the PC chairs for more detailed instructions.
  • The archive must have the following properties:
    • The archive must be no larger than 2MB (two megabytes). If your archive is larger, please contact the PC chairs for information on how to submit it, as the paper submission system will not accept it.
    • All files in the archive must be at one level. In other words, the archive should not contain subdirectories.
    • All "nonstandard" libraries must be included. In general, consider a library to be nonstandard if it cannot be found in CTAN (the Comprehensive TeX Archive Network).
    • Of course, all source files for the paper must be included. The main file (which is to be run using LaTeX) should be named paperxx.tex , with xx the number assigned to your paper by the paper submission system.
    • Include the final .bbl file for your paper, which contains the formatted bibliography. Remember that we will not have access to your BibTeX bibliography libraries and styles, and so it is not practical for us to run BibTeX to create the .bbl file for each submission.
    • Include paperxx.dvi and paperxx.pdf versions of your paper and, if possible, a paperxx.ps (Postscript) version as well. These are important, because we need to check that our run of your paper matches what you expect.
    • If there are any special instructions which we should know, please include them in a README file.
  • For each paper, a signed copyright form must be submitted. This form is also due no later than November 16, 2007. Papers without signed copyright forms cannot be published. The copyright form may be downloaded from copyright.pdf. Please submit your forms either by email (scanned as JPEG or PDF) to M.Kirchberg@massey.ac.nz, by fax to +64 6 350 5725, or else via mail to:
